About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Hi Lucy,I agree with Mia.It is your photo of your bag,on the ebay uk site.I just searched crochet patterns on cds and it was the first one that came up.Hope its with your permission. We all love you and don't want anyone taking advantage of you.

Lovely colour choice, look forward to the finished article.

*sigh*...that is a truly snuggle-worthy blanket! So bright and "Springy".

Do you mind me asking...how do you keep your tension even from when you cast on? Do you cast on loosely? I think I'm doing it too tight for my rows.

Love the matching spotty socks and jug! (Not to forget the contents of the mug!)

Hi Lucy,

I was on ebay and I saw crochet patterns on a CD being advertised with what looked like a photo of your colourful crochet bag. The seller is called Laptop Spares Direct and the item is called:

I could be wrong, but if they are using your photos without your permission, I thought you should know. Kind regards Mia

definitely something worth promoting: socks that match jugs. love it!

Wowowow Lucy, your ripple is looking amazing! The bigger it gets, the more the interlocking effect stands out and the colour rythm is captivating and smoothing (oh dear, I hope my English is making some sense, lol!): I absolutely love it! ♥ xxxx

What ripply gorgeousness!! I love the colours you are using. I'm on the last few rows of mine and can't wait to give it a trial run as our new picnic blanket. Have a fab week hon.

Oh, looooove!! As if I didn't already want to make a blanket! Now I really, really want to make a blanket! I might have to make that a project this year. I just love the interlocking ripples, the effect is amazing!

I just showed this Ripple to my husband and asked what he thought of me making one. He gave me the okay, along with the suggestion of using colors in the large Krasnyansky painting we have hanging in our sitting room! I'm a bit intimidated, though. I may have to mull on this for a bit before starting...

can you tell us where you got your lovely shoes??

love the ripples and the shoes :)

Teresa Kasner

I think this design is just brilliant.. the 1, 2, 3 rows and the interchanging of the colors.. you did good!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

GORGEOUS blanket!!! I love those shoes!!!

Oh, Lucy...thank you, thank you for another wonderful year of fun and color and hooking and Anglo-philia! I am currently an art teacher in Alabama, USA and love everything you do! When I was a young mum, I lived in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire...I loved those days with my kiddos and being a stay at home mum...It is lovely to see you enjoying your life and your babies. Keep blogging, I look so forward to your fun pics! Thank you, again!

It's looking soooo good. I'm on a circle in squares blanket, which I'm enjoying, but it doesn't allow me to build up the calming rhythmn of a ripple or a granny stripe.

Your photos for this blog beautifully demonstrate how folding a blanket, this was or that way, completely changes how it looks. Apart from two photos of the blanket laid out they could all be of different blankets...

your plaid is just fabulous !

I'm French and live in the Alps...I would love to ask you something...Would you be interested in an exchange of creative magazine with me...I know that you live in England, and I'm fond of 'Mollie makes'....and maybe you would be happy to look into a 'Marie Claire idées'????

An issue of 'Marie-Claire idée' against 'Mollie makes'....Let me know if you would be okay??? I hope you understand me^^

I am loving everything about this post. Your blanket is absolutely gorgeous!

You are a marvel. I could never get that far on a blanket. I like small projects for the almost immediate sense of accomplishment!

I do like your new shoes, I noticed them almost immediately.

xXx Helen

Very nice Lucy! Being random is REALLY hard, I did it (well tried) with my stripey bag by delving in and pulling a colour if I had used it in the last 3 colour sequesnces I didn't use it, I went for some that harmonised and some that clashed....it seemed to work OK.

I've got bright pink shoes...just seen bright red in the sales...decisions, decisions...I'm meant to be getting black boots!!

As always love, love, LOVE! Also loving lots of blogs popping up...OH! Amazing cake...mmmmm!

Happy Hookery....maybe you should rename your 'patterns' as 'recipes' for Hookery Cookery!
(Now I'm really losing it (if I ever had it!))

I love this blanket - to the extent that I've followed your tutorial and copied it. I hope you don't mind! :) thank you so much for sharing your tutorial. It's fab!!!
Do you have any idea how much yarn you've used or will use?!?!

I love your ripples!

I was just commenting on your lovely shoes and socks, when I got to your own comment about them! That's one of the things I love about your style, everything is so colourful.

OH, HOW YOU ARE SPOILING US! Too many posts so close together, and we lOve it! We will be in withdrawal now when you let up! The ripple is relaxed and harmonious, for sure! I noticed those sweet new Mary Janes before you mentioned them.. and I LOVE them too! Do give us the low-down on them when you can. xxx

Absolutely beautiful!

Dear Lucy, the blanket is beautiful. I love the colors you have chosen. Your shoes are very nice, I too like. enjoys your blanket, I finished mine. A hug from southern Spain.
