Oh how I love crisp, frosty-cold, Winter bright days!! They've sadly been few and far between this season, but it's made them all the more joyous when we have had them.
These pictures were taken on Sunday. I was walking with Little Lady, she was holding my hand and chattering away nineteen to the dozen as we walked.
I asked her if she minded us having to walk on such a cold day (we were going to a Birthday Party on the other side of town, cutting down across the park to reach the main road). She replied that she loved it, that she was very happy to be walking instead of travelling by car.
It was rather glorious.
J's home this week, he lit the fire first thing this morning and it's still burning now, twelve hours later. All is cosy and warm here at number 24. The Little Peeps had their last day at school today and I went along to the church to sing Christmas carols and choke back the emotion of it all. Away in a Manger, head down, swallow hard, keep singing. Silly old thing, I am quite over emotional these days. Little Man spent yet another day horizontal on the sofa, I cannot believe he is still so unwell. He did manage to go to school yesterday, but it knocked him sideways, so we'll be back at the docs tomorrow to see why his head is still so hot and his legs still so wibbly. Sigh.
I have made some progress on the Christmas preps this past week, most gifts have now been purchased Thank Goodness. Cards have yet to be written mind you, but that's on my to-do list for tomorrow. The house is half-way decked but still needs to be finished off, I'm hoping to do that tomorrow too so will take some pics to share with you.
I hope that all is Merry and Bright with you my friends, keep cosy, and I'll be back to chat soon.

Poor Little Man, I hope he feels better soon. We have been there, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Bless you.

nice to read you again.
So sorry about your Little Man, hope he gets well soon.
It's always kind of energizing having a glance at the Attic. Seems that I'm not the only one to worry about kids, carrols, Christmas presents and stuff...
Here in Spain it's cold too, but almost shiny (?? I mean very sunny) everyday, as I live at the East coast.
My first WIP is almost finished. It is a Summer Garden Blanket. Perhaps too small, but enough for the first time I hook. Colours are not so nice as yours, perhaps I have to go to UK to get yarn!! But my three children are "fighting" for being the first to use it. Thanks, Lucy, for being there, for sharing your life with us. And, again, forgive me about my terrible English.
Merry Christmas for you all.

Oh poor little sausage I hope he is better very soon,,,,,definitely in time for Santa!!!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Day and I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for being such an inspiration to me and obviously so many other people around the world.
Thanks to your beautiful, colourful crochet I have been determined to push on and learn the art of crochet. This year I have completed a large blanket which my hubby claimed as his own, a scarf for by step daughter and am almost finished a scarf of my own (this last one has been unpicked several times as something keeps going wrong with my ripple pattern lol....I am just going to finish it and put it down to a learning scarf. I love the colours but the ripple has somehow disappeared over the last 5-6 rows lol, oh well)
So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Hope little man recovers in time for Sunday's festivities - isn't it awful when the little peeps are unwell and you can't do anything much, other than watch their little body fight, to make them better :( Have a lovely Christmas- best wishes to all! X

the sight of your mountain always makes me happy, in every weather.
here's a wonderful poem by coleridge about cold crisp silent nights, and his wishes for the baby sleeping beside him.
