About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Thank you Lucy....you were one of the first blogs I ever visited and you got me started on crochet....I was entranced by your photos and colours and the way you made everything seem 'do-able'.
Hope all the family are well now, and your picture mosaics are beautiful..should be in a calendar....how do you do mosaics anyway?

It looks like the first quarter of the year was a beautiful one for you. It was a lovely, sunny and colorful first quarter.

My granny taught me to crochet when I was 6 (a misshapen hat for my toy panda!) and we had so much fun together. Now I have just retired, bought myself a laptop and discovered blogs, yours being the first one. Thank you, it is so bright, colourful and full of inspiration it cannot help but cheer everyone up who reads it. I'm sure LL will LOVE crochet how could she not?

Hi Lucy!
I used to crochet in the past using white or beige yarns, but since I discovered you on Roverly I try to add more colours. I was so impressed by your springtime wreath that I already crochet three, one for my own house and two others for my sons. I would like to thank you for giving this exceptional idea.
Kind Regards!

I hope Little B gets better soon and you can get some sleep!

Connie, the daisyhead

Lovely photos! I adore your sense of color. And it seems that we both like the same color palette! I'll be visiting more often.

Hello there - I have enjoyed the cheery pages of your blog for a little while and meaning to write you a note of encouragement...today's the day. Just looking at your fresh, colourful photos and reading your jottings makes me feel happy. Loved what you expressed about how encouraged you felt as you looked at what you have enjoyed in life this first quarter despite feeling fuzzy headed. That gives me hope and prompts me to get cracking with recording in a more tangible way the happy moments of our life too. Beautiful happy bright and pretty snippets capturing those moments. Thank you for your blog inspiration! Sending a blessing all the way from Australia :)

Lovely pictures as always Lucy! Keep up the good work.

Also, I was trying to email you about something, but can't seem to find a proper address. Can you please send me a quick email?

I wonder, I was so enthralled with the Little Miss' knitty details and I didn't say anything. You just said it will soon be her birthday. Would you mind if I request your address so I could send her a card? I'm not a frequent commenter, but I was just thinking of sending you something as well and this would just be perfect!

If you're uncomfortable with that, just let me know I would completely understand!

I really like the mosaics. This first quarter has gone by really quickly here in the US of A!

Ah the snuffles and sniffles of a little one - they get everywhere, don't they?! I'm sure all will be ticketyboo before you know it. I've just read the addition to your last post. All I can say is AAAAWWWWWW!!!! Your Little Lady is a star and I'm so chuffed for her that she's loving her owl project. And despite her age she shows great wisdom with her Top Tip. I shall follow her advice closely.

Love and stuff xx

Lucy thank you ever so much for the joy your blog brings! I am shopping today for yarn to make your stripy bag as I need a pick-me-up.
An unusual request...could you please recommend a favorite lovely perfume to wear now that it is springtime? I have so much enjoyed your choices of all things beautiful and happy.
Thanks so much

I love your blog. I crochet, and appreciate your sharing the patterns and howto's. I have always wanted to start a blog of my own, I could do it, I know how, but I'm very lazy. Right now I'm working on crocheted tapestry for the living room, and I'll use your flowers, I have other flowers too. Thanks again. Elizabeth

I adore the colors you use for both hooking and picture-taking!
Cuddle your little ones and remember how blessed you are, especially as you see your little sweetheart begin to walk in your footsteps.
Happy Spring!
...in the USA

Such a beautiful mosaic of pictures and such a lovely idea as a reminder of photographs you have taken.

Ohhhh to buy new wool for "Little Lady", she'll need her own blog to keep up with her knitting adventures :)

Hope "Little Peeps" is better very soon. My partner has been very ill recently but is slowly getting better, so I fully appreciate the tiredness/stress that goes with poorly people.

BEAUTIFUL mosaics! I make mosaics each month of the children's adventures and it's scary how time is passing by so quickly - I must be getting old.

So glad your daughter enjoyed the feedback and hope you are all germ free soon xxx
