Don't you love it when the weekend really starts on a Friday night? We went to a big organised bonfire night at Bolton Abbey on Friday night (seem to be at that place a lot don't we?)....
....a humungous bonfire with spectacular fireworks set to music.
Saturday morning and I wangled a teensy bit of cosy nesting in bed by myself with a hot cuppa and Christmassy inspiration.
Little Man's art work inspired by the fireworks, propped up on the mantel.
Also on the mantel, the first of this years hyacinths have arrived, yaaaayyyyy!!
Such blue blue skies we had over the weekend....
....and some wonderful and welcome sunlight streaming into the house.
I picked a few little flowers from my back yard...
...and now they are brightening up the bathroom. They make me sooo happy ♥
Loved watching Little Lady's meticulous colouring. She spent an age designing and cutting out her paper doll outfits.
And Little B learnt how to press the buttons to make his own music.
I visited a friend on the other side of town and marvelled at My Attic View as seen from her kitchen window.
Went shopping on Sunday for a spot of retail therapy and couldn't resist these beautiful baubles. They make me sooooo excited for Christmas!
Ahhhh the end of a wonderful weekend full of nothing-in-particular.
Love the fire.
Love my candles.
Love my flowers.
Love my views.
Love my home.
Love my family.
And thats all folks ♥ very brief indeed!
I am out the door now, out into the lashing rain to the pub to crochet, see you all again soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Edited to add :: the baubles came from Sainsburys, along with some fabulous giant-sequined garland in same colours (will have to show you that too). Fabulous.
And for those of you who've been admiring my handpainted glass tealight holders with the little beady wire hangers, they were summer purchases from Morrisons, a bargain at only 50p each.
x

What a great weekend with family!

That's the kind of weekend I love! Love little B's little hand, so adorable! Christmas is coming and I can't fathom it yet, in fact that scares me....time is going way to fast for my liking. I have to cook the turkey first!!!
Thanks Lucy as always for your posts. xo Robin❤

What lovely pics lucy, and what a lovely, simple, homely weekend you've had. The best kind! We had the Dales Cottages brochure arrive the other day, and we've been thinking about coming to Skipton again maybe next year, we do love it there so much. Bolton Abbey must have been wonderful lit by fireworks. Thank you so much for brightening my rainy Monday, much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a lovely post, happy, colourful post!
I didn't get to go to a bonfire this year which was hugely disappointing, although I did watch a very impressive and very loud fireworks display!

My little girl was born on Guy Fawke's day but nobody knows of it here in the US. True to her birthdate, she is a little firework.
I aspire to weekends such as this but mine always seem to get so crazy with no time for sitting or nesting. I must work harder on this!
Your photos are gorgeous!

Looks fabulous Lucy. We seem to have had nothing but rain, rain, rain here. Guess I shouldn't complain - the country is finally out of drought. I think I'll do a blue and silver theme for Christmas this year....... Michelle in Mittagong

Dear Lucy a wonderful weekend down at this end too. An early Saturday
morning walk around our local woods followed by planting some pansies and mini bulbs in pots. A cosy evening indoors followed by another walk in bright sunshine. Then a tidy up in garden then a surprise in the form of three little girls and their dad posting some fliers. Wonder of wonders the smaller of the fliers was all about a craftying group which is meeting in the pub around the corner from my house, knitting, crocheting and sewing.
At the bottom it said Be there or be a Granny square!!!! I was soooo excited.
So it will be great to meet up with some like minded people.
This morning it was teeming with rain so best foot forward so to speak I made a dash for the bus and then a dash for home at the end of the day!
Have a great week. xx

Hip, Hip Hurray
Hip, Hip Hurray
another wonderful posting
another wonderful weekend
and by the way, I so want to know what markers the Little Lady is using for her paper doll's. I'm feeling a twinge of jealousy about all her colors.

My Dear Amiga Lucy, I love your pics!..." full of nothing in particular". The start of the festive season, it is a tradition I look forward at this time of the year. I’ve decided to decorate our Christmas tree, in a much loved traditional way, with Christmas baubles ornaments. I’d like to make some more personalized and unique additions for this year. There is barely time for me to work on it.
Please, take me with you...to the pub...to crochet.Take care! Hasta Pronto,
Gloria xx

Lovely. Since I moved to Australia many, many years I ago I forget about Guy Fawke's night. It just to be a night for baked potatoes in their jackets, treacle toffee and parkin.
This was a lovely post thanks for sharing.
