I've had a desire to crochet myself a wreath for a long time :: for as long as I've been crocheting flowers I've wanted to make a flowery wreath to make use of the flowery flowers. But the truth is I could never really be bothered to think about the logistics of making the actual wreath itself. Something a little over-complicated about wreath construction. Too complex. Too brain-freezy to think about. But I did really want to be able to make one and the idea would not go away. It sat there patiently in the tangled ric-rac of my creative mind, awaiting a time when I might be able to give it a go.
Over the past year or so I've been drooling over some beautiful wreathy inspiration in Flickrville :: there's even a group pool dedicated to this very thing. Yes it's true! Check it out, it's called "we love wreaths too!". And recently I've created my own little Wreathy Gallery over at Flickr, which you can look at here. Scrummy aren't they?
Yes, I do adore wreaths. Love that they are so pretty and decorative, but essentially non-essential. Frivolous. A bit of fun really aren't they? And I do like to have a bit of pretty frivolous fun around the Attic, sure I do.
So.............A tutorial for this little Springtime Wreath?
Of course I can do you a tutorial!!!
In fact, it's all done and dusted!!!
Especially for you my friends!!!
So you can hook yourselves your own bit of Pretty Frivolous Fun!!!
!!!! Hahaha, I do apologise for the excessive exclaiming, but I'm a tad overexcited about this wreathy business, do forgive me !!!!
hmm, yes I'm calming down now...you can find the tutorial in the usual Sidebar-location, or click HERE to find it.
You must promise to let me know if you give it a go, perhaps post some pretty and frivolous wreathy photos over at the Attic24 Inspired group on Flickr. Yes, please do, I'd like that very much.
Lots of love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Edited to add :: thanks to those of you who let me know the link to the tutorial was not working, so sorry!! Its fixed now xxx

you are good lucy! thanks kindly for the tutorial. i sense some crochet flowers coming on for daughter no. 1's forthcoming easter party!
hope all is well in the attic, L x

This is beautiful - and seems almost possible even for a beginner like me! I have bookmarked it for a quiet day or two later this week when I want to give it a try - or at least the flowers to start with :)
Thank you for being so inspiring!! Thank you!!

Very nice! I have to say, I've been following you for a while, but only commented a couple of times. I love your blog! Today I went out and bought a nice green jug and some fresh flowers. You have inspired me. I can't put them too many places around, but I will try the dining room table. The pic is dark, but if you want to check
it out, it's at

Just want to say thanks for the bright spot in my day! Oh and I've visited many of the linky blogs you have, love them!

Well, where have I been? This is absolutely lovely! In my brain, wreaths were just perky green rounds for Christmas or (too often tacky) silk flowers. You have opened up a whole new world of colorful possibility! :)

Please, please, please stop posting such cute items!!! How can I possibly concentrate on completing my own projects if I am constantly running to my stash to make new, adorable, Lucy-inspired things? :)

How you ever found time to create this cheery wreath and then "tutorialize" it, I'll never know. You are too sweet!

Beautiful wreath, but like on of the other posters, I can't see the tutorial.
