About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married, stay at home Mum with three young children. We live in a 100year old Victorian house in the North of England which we are slowly renovating, and here I spend my days :: mothering, decorating, crocheting, baking, sewing, crafting and gardening. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world. xxxx

Happy New Year to you Lucy! If you're bonkers, then there's an awful lot of us who must be too! Thank you for sharing your world with us. It's a lovely, colourful, happy place to be. xxxxx

Jen

Not bonkers at all. Not even a teeny tiny bit. All these things you share with us through your blog-- the yummy looking food, comforting mugs of coffee, gorgeous crocheted blankets and bags, feet propped up and happy in their stripey socks-- these are the things in life that make it worthwhile.

I think one is better off by far if something as simple as a pair of colorful socks makes them truly happy.

Happy 2010 to you, Lucy. Thanks for making 2009 a brighter place for so many of us.

It's not bonkers at all! It's good to know that there are other folk out there who, like me, enjoy the simple things in life. It makes for a happy and contented life. Well I think so anyway. Our three children are all in their twenties now and live and work in other parts of the country or abroad. But, do you know what.... they still all pile home for Christmas and that makes me feel all warm and cosy inside.
Wiashing you a very happy and homely NEW YEAR! Ros

Who needs magazines when there are beautiful images like this shared by others who welcome us into their homes and share a bit of themselves each and every day! It truly is an amazing experience and wonderful adventure. Blessings to you and yours in 2010. Tammy

Happy New Year to you and your family Lucy!
Thank you so much for letting us share in the wonderful 'ordinariness' of your life - your blog always leaves me with a warm glow. Thanks to seeing all of your beautiful projects I am now intent upon learning to crochet in 2010. I yearn for a granny square throw to adorn my settee!

Happy New Year to you too, Lucy! This blog has been one of my highlights this year. You are full of life, creativity, and I LOVE it that you enjoy the little things in life (a stack of towels, tea, and cereal). The color and richness in all of those things can be inspiring. You have inspired me to buy more fun socks and connect w/ my quirky side. It is amazing that you did all those projects this year. I LOve it! Can't wait to hear more from you, especially as a new little one enters the picture. Have a very Merry New Year and many blessings.

Marie

I recently stumbled across your blog and I love it. I've only learned to crochet in the past year and your blog has given me so many ideas! Looking forward to lots more crochet inspiration from you!

Love your blog and have enjoyed it for well over a year now. Not bonkers at all to revel in the comforts and pleasures of one's home and life in general. Your blog is a riot of colour, but it's also gentle and serene. Keep it up!

Wishing you and your growing family the happiest Happy New Year!

Kelly

So many little moments of colour, beauty and creativity - so many moments that could be overlooked but give great pleasure to many when they are captured and shared! Thank you for that sharing - look forward to next years glimpses - Happy New Year :)

Kim

Happy New Year! I love the colors and textures of the photos - so please don't stop taking pictures of the extraordinary ordinary things. I do have a question - what is the title/author of the book on your nightstand? It looks interesting.
