About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I don't think it is bonkers at all Lucy. The ordinary bits of life are what are real and important. Thank you so much for sharing your life and for making me appreciate my ordinary life. Happy new year to you, I'm sure it is going to be an exciting one for you and yours.

and aren't we glad that you take your so-called "Bonkers" photographs, we love them and we love your blog. An oasis of colour in an often grey world.
Thank you for sharing Lucy.
I hope 2010 will bring you and your family much happiness, especially when the Bump arrives!

What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?

Well, in my life of late I haven't had time to stand and stare - so I do it vicariously via your blog. It is soothing and grounding, and I look forward to five minutes out of the hustle and bustle each day I read it.

So, that's not bonkers at all, is it??!!!!!

Happy New Year to you and you family.

I think it is even more bonkers to enjoy looking at pictures of other people's folded towels but they are very pretty! I love the colour you painted your bathroom walls - I think that is colour I need for my downstairs cloakroom. What colour is it? I have enjoyed reading your blog this year. Happy new year!

As one artist to another, I so appreciate your great photos. So many bloggers don't think in terms of the beauty of the composition, the colors, the lighting, and FOCUS!!!
You do all that with what seems to be effortlessness. Fab!
Love Melody who now has your new fave blog to read daily...and drool.

Your blog makes me happy every single time I read it, both because of the fantastic and colourful photos and crafts, and because of your wonderful attitude to life. It's so great it's even made me write my first ever blog comment! Happy new year:)

We're very glad you do share your daily life with us.. it's a very inspiring one, and few are documented so colourfully! I know your 2010 is going to be an interesting one, I hope it also proves to be enjoyable! Have a Happy New Year! xx

Happiest of New Years to you Lucy! This next year will be soo exciting for you -and I suppose a bit of a challenge to begin with.. But I know you will handle it wonderfully and certainly full of color!

I am a sort of normal person who take pleasure to see a pile of teatowels, a bowl of cereal, .... Thank you Lucy to take that sort of photographs and to put them on your blog. It's good to see how the little things of the dayly life can be pleasant, if we know how to show them .... I hope that you understand my english ....
Let's continue and have a happy new year, you and your family.

The Garden Bell - Kate

I stepped away for a second and up and go you post. I'm up way, way to early looking for my morning dose of Lucy color. And there you go and provide me with an overload. Love, love, love each and every one of these.

Some how I missed the one of your new bath cabinet. Great color and I love the red nobs. So charming.

All those feet with the little ones, are too cute.

Now that I reflect back again on NYE here.....I simply can't tell you how much pure joy you have brought me in '09. I realy appreciate you having taken the time to visit my piece of the garden tooooooo.

Have a pure relaxing simple evening with your family tonight.

I only found your blog this year and it has constantly been an inspiration to me. I have learned to crochet more than granny squares thanks to you and the colour in your attic makes me happy.

You don't know me but I feel like I know you. Let me thank you for making our world a more colourful place.

Happy New Year to you and yours from me and mine. :o)

Thank you Lucy for allowing us to move in with you and letting us see life thru your eyes. You have awakened something in me that I had let the cares of life push aside and for that I am most grateful. For the first time in many years, I am actually excited to think about the possibilities this new year will bring. There will definitely be more color in 2010 and of course fresh flowers! Happy New Years, Lucy.

Thank you so much for sharing with us. I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog. I have been inspired to take more crochet classes so that I might try to do some of the clever projects you do! :) What fun!!! Happy New Year!

I love your blog!!!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I only discovered your blog several months ago (around the time I learned to crochet) and it's been such an inspiration and joy to read. Happy New Year!

Lena Hofmann

Thank you so much for sharing your happy life with us. Reading about your "ordinary" happiness has stopped me to think about my own, sometimes Very ordinary life: Not bad at all, actually, quite good. Please do keep going, even with breaks if necessary: You make the world a better place, that's for sure.
Bless you and your family,
