About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

May I please tell you that I literally just teared up looking at your messy, creative, chaotic, colorful, happy home? I've been feeling very sad about mine being oh so empty since we moved from a small apartment (that I loved) to a 3 bedroom house (that still doesn't feel like home). Yours makes me so happy and inspired, always. Thanks for sharing! Also, I am totally going to copy your yellow chair. :)

Blimey, if you want mess you should see our living room in our two up two down terrace, full of people who collect things and small person's toys!! Looks very creative and colourful!

You're just so spot on, I nearly treated myself to the joules fingerless mittens, but resisted hard... I then saw the seasalt multicolours and couldn't hold any longer, have been stashed for forthcoming bday treat to myself ;-)
But now you have shown the way.. I am new to your blog and crotchet, discovered you via dorset cereals comp in the summer. Have recently had no.3 addition after 7 year gap loving it, and enjoying trying to be a homemaker, and your blog just gives me so many lovely ideas and things to try. I've never been like this before, but I am getting all crafty and arty. LOVE IT! Congrats on bump, I think I understand exactly how you feel. My no3 is one next week, its hard but lovely and no1 & 2 are loving 3 loads and loads.
Currently on 28th stripe of ripple blankie having learnt from you in the summer. Many Many Thanks and Best Wishes xxx

I love the wrist warmers. Having just come back from dog walking in the teeth of a Norfolk North wind I think I shall start a pair tonight!

I think it looks lovely at your house Lucy. Warm, and homely and cosy and relaxing. Who wants a sterile show home where you're afraid to put a foot out of place ? have a great weekend. x

It seems quite a few of us would give you competition for the word 'messy' - me included. Mine seems to be a continuous landslide of school books, toys, art work etc. My first thought when I saw the pic of your room was 'what a wonderfully fun and colourful place your baby is going to come in to'. Yours is truly a home. x

Your chaotic living space still looks warm and inviting!
I can't wait to see what the new projects are. The stripes are so HAPPY!!

aaaaaaaaah Lucy! you know how to create suspense, that's for sure! Wonderful pictures as always, can't wait to see your new projects!

It does not look messy at all, but nice and cosy... Your crocheting is always amazing and make me keep my eyes wide shut for ages just dreaming of doing something like it (it will never happen unfortunately!)

I'm so glad you have "stuff" We have far too much stuff in this place :o) There's always homes shown in blog land that do not have a thing out of place and when you have kids, husbands, yarn etc it's just not possible to live like that! I say hurrraaaay for the stuff. It's what make a home. Ooo, and love the new project by the way... Beautiful colours
Sam x

ooOo u keep me excited about ur new projects, :D
wish u have the happy day everyday..

I love, love, love your blog, although I never put any comments. But I do crochet the way you taught me. I wish you all the happiness that you can get in this world now that your life is turning in this special way. You are a very special and noble lady, you know!

Good morning Lucy! It was again the first thing to do when I got at work, to look if you have written anything new.And here it was! New project and new yarns, lovely colours. Your home is just the way I like. I wish you marvellous time of pregnancy, the end of it? When the baby is coming? Soon?

why do you torture me with such lovely colors and a cozy home. I soooo want to learn to knit now more than ever.

"Messy, chaotic, creative, colourful, happy."
Never mind those dirty cushions......... Mine look like that, too!

I'm having a week like that, too! It's nice to hear about your projects and especially to see what you have heaped on your sofa. Don't worry about the mess! It's called creativity! At least that's what I call it when I look at my house. Beth

Can I tell you that I've had the worst week but coming here always cheers me up? ALWAYS.

I love that room. It looks so incredibly bright, fun and full of love.

Your secret project looks very interesting. You always use colors in the most beautiful way.

Loving this post today!
I come here just to feel the sunshine radiating from my computer! You are the most optimistic person I have ever heard of and I am LOV-ing that!

Hi Lucy
First I don't blog, but have had yours in my favourites for several months. I am so envious of your wonderful ways with colour, your lovley personality that just shines through your posts. The great photographs and how you share. I borrowed your pattern for hexagons and made a baby blanket for my new little cousin. It is only four colours and far more geometrical than I would have liked (I have come to the conclusion that I dont have the brain to make your wonderful decsions with colour and I just counldn't make it work like you) But the finished product was great and soft and cuddly just as it should be. I glad you are less wobbly today, and hope you continue to have a wonderful day and weekend. I would love to send you a photo but not sure how to when I don't blog. But suffice to say I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful site! Regards Anne
