About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I echo your love for Big Blankie - it's beautiful and so right without the white. Spend as much time with it as you want and we'll all be here when you return. X

hehe i'm having an affair with patchwork!

If you have to have an obsessive love, Big Blankie is the one to be in love with. It's really beautiful.

Anne Bebbington

Does your husband know of your switch of allegience? :o)))

Oh, we TOTALLY understand. You've been through a lot together : )!! And it is looking gorgeous!! Hook away!

I am glad you are enjoying time spent with big blankie. I feel the same about paper!!!

How can you not be in love? It's absolutely wonderful!

Would love to see the end result.

I think Big Blankie would like to run away, with me. Oh yes, BB told me!

Loving it (although I thought it looked good with the white too but what do I know?!)

Can't wait to see it finished. Dx

so glad i found your blog - i got quite addicted to crochet several years ago and found myself unable to put it down! I particularly got hooked on granny squares and had to learn every variation!!...i also do paper and fabric mixed media stuff and a little jewelry, but I always love to come back to my crochet hook and some yarn or thread - it is just SOOOO therapeutic! Love your big blankie! And I agree about the white...for what it's worth!

Yes, Lucy, go with that fabulous flow of color and balance. Just enough excitement and just enough calming harmony.

I think you've got it!

Best wishes.

I have to say, today's post and yesterday's post about your new wool stash and reinvigorated effort on Big Blanket have made me sigh with happiness, vicariously. I am RIGHT THERE with you, staring happily at all that yarn and possibility. I too love nothing more than crocheting away on something I'm excited about. My favorite pastime is to sneak away to my room and watch British TV (One Foot in the Grave, Waiting for God, whatever) while working on an afghan, perhaps with a glass of wine at my side. (sigh) Thank you for sharing your daily yarn devotionals! They get me through my workday and inspire me to hasten home and pick up the hook again.

Lucy ~ I totally understand how you can be so much in LOVE with that totally gorgeous, beautiful, colourful, soft.............Big Blankie, I'm sure you will cuddle up together for a long time:O)

Kate - The Garden Bell

Absolutely, delightful. Love the reddish/pinkish/raspberrish colors in contrast to the blueish/greenish/tealish colors. Keep going, and going, just like the enegizer bunny. Can't wait to see what fun edging you add to finish this up. What a wonderful way to end your week. Have a cheerished weekend. Ok, so I'm a little "ish"-ist today, but you once again brightened my day.

"Cheers"ish good day to you

Mrs Bun

Give that blankie a hug from me. He or she deserves your adoration.

Nina - Tabiboo

Just lovely Lucy, I can see why you are in L.O.V.E.!!

I just hope I can achieve the same with my ickle little blankie.

Have a lovely one,

Nina x

Is that Blankie trying to steal you from us?!

Tania Hrziwnatzki

Definately better without the white, you made the right decision. It's wonderful & I cant wait to see it finished.

Hey Lucy, It's Great to see you back to your usual Happy self! That blanket is the best yet! You were so right to frog the white!
Long may Happiness Reign!

who could not fall in LOVE its adorable everybody should have one!

You are so talented! I love your use of color (colour :)- everything is so cheerful!

It's looking really nice. You do such beautiful work. I know you did the right thing by removing the white.

Yes, yes, yes, looking so beautiful! So nice too, to hear you sounding cheerful and peppy, while being with your newfound love...
some one-on-one time, just you and your blankie is what you deserve :-)

Big Blankie is quite a "hunk!" hehe

It's looking lovely Lucy I can see why you can't stop! I've run out of a colour I am using for my blanket and it is proving very frustrating as the shop STILL haven't got it in. I've looked up ordering it myself but have to buy a minimum of 10 balls which I don't need, plus they are more expensive than the shop sells them for.

Big Blankie is nice, but my heart belongs to Ripple. He lies quietly behind Big Blankie offering support. If he was a man, I'd ask you to set us up!
