About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Absolutely love it! The buttons on the back are perfect. I'd be tempted to turn the cushion around and just look at the darling buttons every once in a while!!

I love your Cushies! They're scrumptious! I am *so* looking forward to tomorrow's post. Have a great day!

Fabulous and such an excellent idea for the back. Love the cushions all lined up on the sofa and am very tempted by Granny Patch. She's just sort of calling out to me - LOL! Can't wait to see the Ripple pattern - so kind of you, Lucy. Got myself a new hook for the BIG EASTER PROJECT and raring to go.

Dear Lucy:
How do you attach the crocheted pillow top to the backing of the cushion? Do you just sew in with the machine or do you crochet it somehow.

Beautiful! I've got a couple of old woolen sweaters that would make lovely cushion backs. Love the colours, as always.
I'm looking forward to the ripple lesson. Thanks again for all the inspiration and the time you take to share with others.

Lucy, you did fabulous cushions! just look at the vibrant colours.. so colourful! Wish I know how to crochet..

Hi Lucy, the cushion looks lovely..love the colours. Kathy

Lovely cushions ideas!!!!
Oh, and please, could you tell the pattern for the little flowers in two colors? I am always looking for the perfect-super-easy-flower-crochet-pattern!!!! lol...

Fab! I just found your blog yesterday and couldn't wait to see what great color combinations you come up with today. Totally, looking forward to your tutorial on the ripple. In my opinion, it'a all about the colors you use. Looking forward to starting a new ripple here in Chicago.

Hi Lucy,

such beautiful bright and bold colours, love the ripple effect and your cushion idea and the mixed buttons and 'ooohhhhh' I could go on and on and....

Have a lovely rest to the day,

Nina x

I was just making myself a cup of tea, and contemplating getting to work on D.I.Y. when I thought, no, I'm going to treat myself and have a look-see, and catch-up on Lucy's blog, it's bound to refresh me! And it has! The colours you gave us today are like a tonic, thanks Lucy!
Love Vanessa xxx

Oh my goodness! Perfectly gorgeous! Now I'm really feeling inspired to dust off my crochet hook. Looking forward to the ripple instructions, although I fear this will likely mean breaking my no-yarn-buying resolution...

Thank you Mandy! You have given me my color/crochet/goodness fix today.

The Antidote

Thank you for the cushion love! Really like the back, always a nice thing when the back has a bit of interest going on x

What a clever girl you are Lucy. That new cushion looks lovely sat on your sofa. It invites you to take a seat and snuggle into it. Beautiful.

Christine Warren

Your pillow (that's what we call cushions in the U.S.) is lovely! Have a great day!

Beautiful cushion, you are clever. Really looking forward to the ripple instructions, will there be a version for dummies I wonder.

Julia Staite

Can't wait for the ripple instructions! I'm hoping to make a baby blanket and think it would be perfect

Lucy you are so clever and should be very proud of yourself (I expect you are too modest for that). Those cushions are gorgeous and I love all those little coloured buttons. I would just love to sit on your sofa and have a natter amongst all that wonderful colour. Karenx
