The Beginning

For a while now I have thought about beginning my own blog. I think I might've been a little late to arrive at the Blog Party having only stumbled across them in the summer of 2007. Up until then I had no idea this amazing community existed, had no idea that there might be other creative, domesticated so-and-so's out there who get excited about crochet, stitching, baking, flowers, corners of rooms. The little pleasures in every day life. The joys of creating and homemaking. So I have been hovering on the sidelines, marveling at the talent out there, wondering if I might be able to put myself alongside the other inspirational folks I've discovered. I have tentatively been learning to take photographs, small snapshots of my creative and domestic life and sharing them on Flickr. And now I am going to share even more with you. My creative projects. The making of my house into a home. My Home Sweet Home.
Its going to be a fun journey.

Hi Lucy. I'm so happy to find your blog. I'm very late to the world of blogging but have loved reading about your world in northern England! I live in Tennesse and we have a rich heretage of needlework of all kinds here in the Appalachian mountains. Both of my grandmothers were avid crocheters and quiltmakers and I am blessed to have their blankets to remember them by. I must say I'm an Anglophile and love everything Brittish. Hi Lucy - Wow!!! Today someone pointed me in the direction of your blog and I have spent the WHOLE day (I should've been working, oops) looking at your photos. You have an amazing talent and are very inspirational.
